I agree we need to pay for stuff. But the rumoured proposals were so shit. No tax reform, nothing to reduce the inequality between wealth and income.

The cavalier Tory approach during the pandemic is unforgivable. While my constituents in Bolton West struggled through lockdowns, £122m was wasted on unusable PPE Medpro gowns. That’s money that should have gone to NHS staff, local hospitals & vital services. It’s only the tip of the iceberg.

But this is also about the Tory government that set up the VIP lane, later found unlawful, which let firms like PPE Medpro leapfrog normal checks.

Rachel Reeves says Michelle Mone should be kicked out of the House of Lords – too right.

Mone wouldn’t be missed: she's spoken in the chamber just five times since being made a peer by David Cameron ten years ago.

Mone claimed she only “helped open doors.”

FACT: On the very day PPE Medpro was incorporated, she referred it into the government’s VIP fast lane – a scheme used by Tory politicians for firms with political connections. Such firms were 10 times more likely to get contracts than others.

Mone says she is being ‘scapegoated’.

FACT: The 25 million gowns PPE Medpro was contracted to supply failed UK sterility requirements and weren’t properly labelled. 103/140 gowns which were checked failed testing. Using them could have put NHS staff members' lives in danger.

Great thread.

If you buy a product and find it’s not fit for purpose, you don’t pay or get your money back

As PPE Medpro, set up by Mone & Barrowman, has conveniently gone into receivership, their assets must be seized

Next up? Tim Horlick & Ayanda Capital?
