This is not because I like you.
I'm so glad I finally know why everyone's obsessed with "Murder on the Dancefloor." That was a very confusing time for me. She has other top-notch songs, too, you guys. You don't have to wait for the next weird movie to listen to them!

This whole women complimenting other women thing is really confusing. Here I am worried that the cashier at the grocery store is going to judge me for being trans...and then she says something nice about my pants. I'm always so surprised that I barely mumble thanks...and now I feel like a jerk.

I finally saw POOR THINGS. A few minutes in, I realized it's a helluva trans allegory. Surely, I thought, someone's already written that essay...
‘Poor Things’ is the Trans Fairy Tale I Never Knew I Needed
This piece contains brief spoilers for Poor Things. Last February, I killed myself. Or, I should clarify, I killed a version of myself - the only version the world had ever known, because it was the v...

FELICITY was MSCL for girls who didn't think they were angsty but definitely were. In an overthinking fight to the death, though, I can't say whether Angela or Felicity would win.

In a book I'm reading, one character (younger) teased another character (older) by saying that GenX doesn't exist. That joke is definitely only funny when I'm the one saying it. When someone else says it, it hurts me right in the angst.

I'm not a big fan of the egg metaphor. It's a good metaphor fwiw, but it's not a phrase I use. I have, at least mentally, begun to think of the anniversary as my "other birthday." In conclusion, Happy Other Birthday to me. (It's the big 3.)

Generally, I've forgotten the last two seasons of ALIAS, where they definitely lost the thread. But, man, I really forgot about Marvin Sloane, and that isn't something one should forget about. Take a weird TV trope and make it a 1000 times weirder. Just...wow.

Another week goes by without any theater in the area showing POOR THINGS. Just more insult to injury.

Was I able to buy an advanced ticket for Argylle today? Yes. For fuck's sake.

DISHONORED is my first Dietrich/von Sternberg film. Gotta say...it's definitely all that was promised. Here's the thing: I don't know what kind of person would be her character's type, but there is NO WAY any of these dudes should believe she's actyally into him. Big "it's a trap" energy. 📽️

There's a scene early on in THE INCREDIBLE SHRINKING MAN where he tells his wife that she can leave because their marriage was based on certain expectations, including body shape. Kind of hits you right in the trans, doesn't it? 📽️

Do people who aren't predisposed to anxious attachment listen to songs like "I Really Like You"? Is secure attachment a myth? (It is until I see evidence to the contrary.)

You know, a lot of people enjoy mocking football commentators for all the inadvertent sex things they say. Me? What I enjoy the most is when they start talking about Sade. It doesn't happen often, but when it does...perfection.

As much as I love Hurley, the one true ride-or-die character in the Abramsverse is Marshall Flinkman.

As for the rest:
Vaughn > Jack
Sydney > Kate
Kendall > Locke
Jack > Christian
Dixon < Sayid (barely)
Sark < Sawyer
Weiss/Charlie too close to call
Sloane/Ben hate them both 📺

There's really only one question to be asked during the last week of the year: What is time?

It's an especially relevant question when it is inexplicably 70 degrees outside.

I don't know which part of Alias S3 is my favorite. Is it how seriously crazytown the show becomes? Or is it that Vaughn faces actual consequences for moving on too quickly? Pretty sure this is exactly how I felt the first time I watched the show too. 📺

You know what I'd really like for 2024? To not look back at it like I'm looking back at 2023 right now and say, "You know what...that really *was* the worst year of my life."

"They're Labyrinthing the baby!" I shouted, watching the Doctor Who Xmas ep

Also, I'm enjoying Ruby Sunday's level of sass, which no one should find surprising. 📺

For some reason, whenever I'm staying in for the day, what I wear is somehow either blue/pink or repping a DC superhero. I don't know why. Today is Aquaman. Again, I don't know why.

I cannot figure this dude out. Seven Samurai with the plot beats (and nearly identical shots) of Star Wars by way of Dune with that ol' Sucker Punch razzle dazzle.

He's definitely trying to do a thing. Is the thing mediocre or genius? 📽️

BELL, BOOK AND CANDLE (1958): If Kim Novak tells me she's a witch, I have no questions. This is fine. 📽️

I just saw an autocaption that had the word "companionship" as "compassionship."

That sounds like such a solid concept. The video was about a cat, though, so...

My hottest take on Alias persists during this rewatch: Yeah, I'd kick your ass too if you grieved, met someone, did all the things, and got married in less than two years. I bet Will didn't move on. (Did he? I can't remember. It isn't important.)

2023 gave us the Doctor and Donna together again. Maybe 2024 is the year we get Spice World on digital or back in the theater.

I'd settle for a Spice Girl or two on an ep of Doctor Who.

Also, Pitchfork posted a review of RIOT!...today. It's a new review. Of an album from 2007. What is time?
