It has officially happened. I have been officially let go from my position at CDC. I wasn’t a probationary employee. I had stellar performance reviews every year.
I’ll be ok. But please understand that many worked HARD to get into these positions and were doing great public health work.

You cannot fire so many people and shutter so many agencies and services and not expect things to start to go very bad very quickly.
Our job is to highlight not only the chaos and cruelty of the firings, but also the devastating consequences.
The public must turn on this madness and soon.

It was truly the honor of my life to work with such incredibly passionate people focused on improving human health. I’ve never experienced a more positive culture where *everyone* cared about their job and serving others.
