Bit of politics 🌹 Bit of culture 🎭 Lots of cats 🐈‍⬛
Councillor for Knotty Ash & Dovecot Park | Cabinet Member for Health, Wellbeing & Culture | Liverpool City Council
The lady I met today laughed and said that summed up Vermont. It did. We all have our own culture, I don’t like hunting, but everyone was so friendly and welcoming. Made me realise how important shows of solidarity are. I immediately felt safe when I saw that flag 🏳️‍🌈 (3/3)

It wasn’t a planned stop, we just needed to get breakfast and were driving through woods. Found this place, big trucks outside with a few hunters… nearly turned away, only we spotted the pride progress flag above the door saying welcome… 🏳️‍🌈 (2/3)

Just had a brilliant meeting with my Aspire Liverpool hat on. The woman I met with was from Vermont and it immediately reminded me of probably one of my favourite places in the world we visited in 2023.

Tough spinning class at Cardinal Heenan Lifestyles this evening 🚲

A great example of a successful partnership between @lpoolcouncil.bsky.social leisure services and a local school.

Definitely ready for tea now! 😥

I’m not a blue, but what is good for #Everton is great for our city.

It was lovely to join the Sport Liverpool board this evening for a tour of #BramleyMoore Stadium 🏟️ 🔵

Not long to go…

A huge thank you to Cllr Barbara Murray for inviting me to help launch Liverpool’s Year of Spoken Word.

It was a fantastic event at Liverpool Central Library filled with literacy and culture organisations who do great work in our city

Was really pleased to support Cllr Simic in formulating and passing this motion on creative education last night.

The Coalition Government deprioritised the arts in the 2014 National Curriculum and introduction of the EBacc.

We must ensure all students can access creative industries!

Absolutely gutted to hear The Vivienne has died.

Viv encapsulated british drag, with of course their scouse comedic streak.

I’ll never forget her ode to Liverpool legend Pete Burns during her first runway on @dragraceukbbc. It made me proud to be scouse!

What a star! Thanks, Viv ❤️

Come wind, rain or shine, or whatever the british weather throws at us, I’m out all year round across Knotty Ash & Dovecot Park.

Nearly finished with my 2024 Christmas card delivery. Fabulous artwork from my 2024 competition winner, Penelope, from Dovecot Primary School🎄

Annual Christmas lunch with my office buddies and friends from Classics for All 🎄

Really lucky to share an office at Liverpool College with Alice and Joanne. Both our organisations have had great collaborations that have been fruitful for the students we support 🧑‍🎓 👩‍🎓

We announced today our collaboration with George House Trust to support mothers living with HIV by supplying them with formula milk.

I’m proud that our Labour council is enacting these progressive measures to help eradicate new HIV transmissions by 2030 👏 @thtorguk.bsky.social

A very important City Council meeting last night discussing #education in the city.

Here’s a snippet of me highlighting the need for us to address poverty and multi-generational disadvantage.

We need to work together to raise aspirations for our young people.

It was great to attend the Northern Culture APPG at Westminster yesterday with our head of sporting events, Jen.

A new report has been launched highlighting the importance in the North of sport and major sporting events ⚽️ 🏈 🎾 🏊‍♂️

Despite the wet weather, Stanley Park winter market today has been a huge success.

I’ve bought my first gifts 🎁

Lots of children meeting Santa at no cost to local families. Great team work between Liverpool Markets and our local councillors around Anfield 🎅🏼 🎄
