Since I got my new phone (16e) in August, I've had an issue on and off that's really annoying. Every now and again, I'll wake up and battery is drained a lot more than expected - usually go to sleep with it in the 80% range, and when this happens I wake up with it in the 40% Checked the battery settings, and the culprits are always Siri and "Home Accessories" each using around 10% of the battery in each hour. I've never used Siri in my life, and I don't have the voice command thing on, so it's not sitting listening for me to say something. I've also never used or even downloaded the Home app to my phone! When this first started happening I did download it once and did the whole "delete home" thing I saw someone say either here or on the apple help forum in case that helped, but deleted the whole app immediately afterwards. For a while it seemed that turning my phone off more often would help, so I started setting a reminder to turn it off once a day. But I just woke up this morning with my phone at 42% and Siri and Home Accessories had been doing their thing overnight again 🙄 Any ideas on how to fix it? It's usually not too big of an issue as I'm usually up in enough time to get it fully charged again before I have to go anywhere but I have a busy week with hospital appointments and need to be able to rely on my phone more

Everyone hates tropes, everyone hates books being sold based on their tropes, everyone hates those graphics with all the little lines pointing to the tropes. No one wants to hear about enemies to lovers, fake dating, forced proximity, everyone thinks it's a sign of declining literacy, a readership that wants to be pandered to rather than entertained, stuff like this is why Rome fell or what the fuck ever. I'm not talking about tropes simply existing of course, tropes have always existed and we've all always been broadly fine about it. Mistaken identity, cross-dressing, secret twins – tell me which of Shakespeare's plays I'm talking about, I dare you. No, I'm talking about tropes being named and talked about and used as a reason to read a book. So this week I'm using my newsletter to tell us all to calm the fuck down. 1977 words

The news is out so I can finally point at this. Yes this is my publisher of the Vivi novels. I’m devastated that another company started to change things up in this industry has failed to thrive. I don’t know any more so pls be compassionate to the authors.

Shareholders include co-founder and MD Aimée Felone, co-founder Dee Stevens, and authors Robin Stevens and Sophie Anderson. No reason has been given for the collapse, though it is understood that KO had been talking to publishers about a potential sale for sometime. Knights Of would not comment when contacted by The Bookseller, except to confirm its closure. This week its offshoot bookshop Round Table Books - which is a separately run Community Interest Company - launched a fund-raising initiative to move into bigger premises. Knights Of was founded in 2017 by two former Scholastic employees, Aimée Felone and Dee Stevens. The company name is a reference to the Knights of the Round Table

This is an utterly nonsensical way to report the really relieving news that Plaid Cymru, a party which espouses all sorts of liberal values including trans rights, etc. (and which isn't even mentioned in this headline!!!) won the election by a 47% landslide, well ahead of Reform as well as Labour.
