They were even able to find hydralazine attached to MPO in people with hydrANCA (but not in "regular" ANCA).

It turns out, that under the right conditions, carbonyl groups form on MPO. Hydralazine actually ATTACHES to these carbonyl groups, probably modifying the MPO conformation and inducing a neo-antigen, which eventually causes the formation of anti-MPO IgM!

Sigh. Time to bring this quote out again. So prophetic (written in 1995). Wish he was still here to guide us.
