I see On Tyranny is trending still. It's an incomplete view of American Fascism and should only be used as a starting point (or not at all, preferably). It is a neo-liberal view of Trump's "exceptionalism" and is absolutely propaganda to prop up neo-liberal fascism.

People equate revolution with the war and miss the entire point that the revolution is the change in values and priorities. The revolution is the change of the system. Revolution is not the destruction of something, it is the creation of something new. When we liberate ourselves mentally, emotionally, and physically to a new freedom based in equity and solidarity, when we kill the ego inside of us that says we have to wield power over others and that our survival rests of all of our survival, when we understand solidarity as the driving force of not just human nature, but all of nature, that is liberatory revolution. It's a revolution of hearts and minds. The physical battle is just the culmination of the revolution we do now in the here of our current material conditions. The physical battle cannot successfully sustain liberatory revolution unless we are already practicing it.

This is an opportunity. Do we critique them and hold their feet to the fire on values and principles? Absolutely. But we have to be teaching them those values and principles in the first place before we judge them for not knowing.
Listen. Are these protests performative without any real sense of strategy or organizing beyond "show up"? Yes. Are they controlled opposition from the Democrats to stifle revolutionary potential? Almost certainly. Does that mean we (folks with privilege) abandon the people going to them? No. People aren't quite ready, but they are agitated. It is our job (again, those with the privilege and/or ability to do so) to move them into education. Going to protest is a waste of energy right now. But going to recruit can be fruitful. Print up little flyers for your local boots on the ground work - pass them out at these protests. Talk to people. Build connections. Find the ones who want to do more and get them plugged in. This is an opportunity. Do we critique them and hold their feet to the fire on values and principles? Absolutely. But we have to be teaching them those values and principles in the first place before we judge them for not knowing.

Protesting is effective, when it is clear focused direct action against the state. MLK Jr marched after the bus riots, not before. The ADA passed when disabled folks did a die-in. Labor unions only gained power after people died in riots and armed defense. Clear and focused subversion of the state is protesting. Standing around, waving signs, and marching is a parade, and not even a good on if you are on sidewalks. Calling it resisting with a fucking permit is downright laughable. Direct action has, and always will, get the goods. White people need to move past the idea of safety, you are always unsafe. The world is unsafe. The economy is gone. You do not have rights anymore. White people need to get comfortable with the idea of being a criminal. Being criminalized under a fascist regime is a good thing, actually. And so is stealing from corporations. Direct action is what it is going to take. Resistance is effectively striking the system. Get rid of the cop in your head and deal with your issues about authority.

Stop asking them to do something. Do something yourself. Collective action is how we gain collective liberation. No one is going to save you. You have to do the work to save yourself and by each one of us doing so, we save each other.

Solidarity and mutual aid are deeply related. Kropotkin occasionally uses them interchangeably.

Solidarity is not a new concept. It is deeply etched into our DNA and survival as humanity. Taking care of each other takes care of ourselves. This is the main component of solidarity and mutual aid.

A lot of folks tend to feel like they don't know what they can do for the movement but in reality, there are so many different roles and needs within movement work that there is absolutely a place for everyone.

"To understand LandBack, and WaterBack, we need to understand Settlerism-Colonialism, or more simply, Settler Colonialism. Settler Colonialism is an ongoing project by settler states, like the US, New Zealand, Australia, Canada, Israel, etc. It involves external colonialism, also called settlerism, which is when a colonizing power exports settlers, resources, knowledge, plants, metals, weapons, and/or animals to increase its wealth and land, like when the European empires shipped millions of armed colonists to settle North America, many as indentured servants. And it involves internal colonialism, which is marked by the violent management of a colonized people and lands within the borders of the imperial nation through ghettos, reservations, police, schools, prisons, that sort of thing. A good example of internal colonialism would be the residential schools in the US and Canada up to the 20th century that stole Indigenous children from their families and stripped them of their cultures. Settler colonialism can be best summarized as the empire and the colony existing in the same geographical space. Settler colonialism is a process of destroying to replace."
