Living in a block of flats, I’m so scared that one of my neighbours might be charging one of these things in here.

My last cat Betty was only like that for a month - after my mum died and she’d realised sometimes people go away and don’t come back - but it was a loud month. Every bath, every bowel movement, she was howling outside the bathroom door because she couldn’t currently see me.

My cats’ food bowl has been in the same spot - next to my desk - for 19 years and 6 days since I adopted Betty, and is still in the same place for Biscuit.

2 nights ago, for the 1st time ever, I banged my forehead on the corner of the desk while putting cat food down.

Now I have a forehead bruise.

Listening to Killing In The Name Of, and out of the corner of my eye I see Biscuit (10 year old ginger, pictured) sitting up on the floor, grooming his chest - so his head is bobbing up and down - and I swear he was grooming to the beat of the song, so it looked like he was headbanging.

I learned yesterday that one of the people snogging on the cover of Suede’s debut album is a wheelchair-using lesbian.

I picked up that cover hundreds of times to put the CD on as a teenager, and never knew how represented I was by it. Until today, 31.5 years after the album’s release.
