Keeping Secrets Out of Logs
There's no silver bullet, but if we put some "lead" bullets in the right places, we have a good shot at keeping sensitive data out of logs.

None of these people are white, according to the racist standard.

And neither are you. So if you're afraid of your kids marrying someone not white, what you're afraid of, is your great great great great grandkids being just like you.

Race isn't real. Racism is very real.
Anyways, for those afraid of being "Great replaced," it's already happened.

None of these people are "white." And yet, all of them are? 🙂🙃

Because race isn't real. Racism, is very real.

Rhonda Rousey thought that she was white up until a few years ago. Then research + DNA told her differently.

So here's the Good news/Bad news depending on how racist you are:

White people are already extinct. It already happened, hundreds of years ago.🤷🏿‍♂️

Your great-great-great grand pappy was getting busy before racism was invented. Now none of y'all score 100% on your 23 and me.
Elon Musk has tweeted nonstop about white babies, white genocide, population decline, and fertility rates for the past week.

This is what it's all about, folks. The supervillain plot is tweeted in real time.

White supremacy. Fear. Anxiety. Hatred. A loathing of diversity.

🤔Um... This is exactly the America I grew up in. Do y'all know how many times I've been stopped by the cops for no reason and searched?

Ok, so she's 4'11 and under 100 lbs. I was 4'11 once, but today I'm 6'3 and over 300 lbs. What exactly is the height/weight cutoff where it's OK to pull me over?
“Traumatized, humiliated, degraded.”

The nurse, a US citizen, 4’11”, 85 lbs, says she was following orders when she was dragged out of her car by masked immigration agents in Florida.

It was the 3rd time she had been stopped and told to produce ID.

Old argument for EU tech sovereignty: fascism is bad

New argument for EU sovereignty: we might not have a choice if the US hard bricks its tech stack in two years like they appear to be on track to do?

… which is an argument I never thought I’d be making

Apropos of nothing: do we have any written experience reports of what it’s *like* as an engineer to be on call for various nines of availability?

I know the math for them, but I realised I don’t know if we have a collective idea of what it FEELS like to operate each of at those levels

Anyone? 👀

It's fascinating that we're all getting front row seats to see if threats and violence (US approach), or compliments and assistance (Chinese approach) will be more effective by 2030 at securing resources from developing nations.

But don't pretend that you don't understand wanting to get surgery to remove some tissue that you don't feel should be there, and that makes you feel severe depression.

And don't pretend that you don't understand wanting to take hormones to close the gap between how you look vs how you feel.

I have a problem with transphobic people pretending that cis men and boys are not *by far* the biggest category of gender affirming care surgery.

In caring for either a baby human or a baby company, sometimes it's important to do your *most* work. But sometimes it's important to do your *best* work.

The trick is in knowing when to do each.

And in not outsourcing your care work on an unsuspecting and underappreciated partner.

Yup.

But hot take:

If the downstreaming of care work were adequately compensated? I'd have less of an issue with it.

I worked long hours as CEO during the first two years of my startup.
I "worked" long hours(childcare) when my kids were under two years old.

Only one of these was well compensated
We have to talk about how this glorification of overwork is driving care downstream.

To compete, men are incentivized to dump care onto women in their families. And women in privileged positions are then incentivized to push care onto others more vulnerable than them.

I feel this so deeply. I’ve been told I belonged somewhere. I’ve been told I was valued and appreciated and accepted.

I’ve also *been* valued, appreciated, and accepted.

Almost never by the same groups. And never in the same places.
"you belong here" means "you are responsible for staying here and fixing this no matter what" when it is delivered to you by someone who also says "and I cannot be held responsible for ever making you feel like you belong and are seen"

This is why I don't accept invites to talk to girls about tech
I believe a lot of folks underestimate the bruising psychological effect of being told "you belong here" while simultaneously being consistently oppressed by the same people

Bearing witness & providing community & data to prove it's real is so important
