Assuming trans people's physiology based on our birth certificates is potentially unsafe
Extract of text saying "The clinical research team found that troponin levels shifted towards the affirmed gender after 12 months of hormone therapy. Troponin decreased in transgender women to a level not statistically different from cisgender women, but which was 78% lower than in cisgender men. GP: Here is a 12 page ICB document with multiple references justifying why I'm going to refuse that. There's probably a clause in it to force me to prescribe if you're able to spot it

Has this been shared with your patient? • Is the prescription clinically appropriate for your patient? Drugs and other treatment should only be prescribed when a clinician has adequate knowledge of a patient’s health and satisfied that the treatment serves the patient’s needs. Has a holistic view of the person’s individual needs been taken, including any mental health or neurodevelopment issues that may impact on gender-related distress? With the information supplied, is the treatment appropriate for the patient and within the limits of your competence? The clinician should question any recommendation which is considered unsafe.

So, they're going to ask for a birthday certificate, which is not a legal form of ID, or a GRC which is (by deliberate design) also not a legal form of ID ... to prove you're ID

The EHRC have absolutely lost the plot 🙄

I know we're dealing with the Data bill amendment in parliament but there's ANOTHER vote happening that affects trans people

GPs are having a vote this Friday about whether or not to record "biological" sex at birth on our NHS records at the LMC (Local Medical Committees) conference in Glasgow
RECORDS OF TRANSGENDER PATIENTS 10.00 19 AGENDA COMMITTEE TO BE PROPOSED BY KENSINGTON, CHELSEA AND WESTMINSTER: That conference expresses concern in offering our transgender patients the most appropriate options for care and treatment, while also maintaining their medical records and requires: (i) clear national guidance on whether to redact and rescan entire old NHS records into new records, with adequate resourcing to support any redaction and rescanning of medical records for these patients (ii) support for patients who wish to have their original details kept un-redacted (iii) clinical systems to include in the patient registration biological sex, preferred gender pronoun, title for correspondence and gender reassignment (iv) the use of additional data fields, beyond just those referencing gender or sex, that would identify patients suitable for screening and automatically invite them to join an appropriate national screening programme. 19a KENSINGTON, CHELSEA AND WESTMINSTER: That conference expresses concern in maintaining the medical records of our transgender patients and requires: (i) clear national guidance on whether to redact and rescan entire old NHS records into new records (ii) adequate resourcing to support any redaction and rescanning of medical records for these patients (iii) support for patients who wish to have their original details kept un-redacted (iv) clinical systems to include in the patient registration biological sex, preferred gender pronoun, title for correspondence and gender reassignment but the explicit consent from patients must be obtained and recorded when including any of these details in the medical record. 19b CHESHIRE: That conference believes that the inability to separately record ‘sex at birth’ and ‘gender identity’ using the personal demographics service (PDS) and the electronic health record (EHR) is not only causing distress to trans and non-binary patients accessing ca…

(6) Information supplied by the General Register Office pursuant to subsection (5) must specify sex as recorded at birth, as well as any subsequent corrections to the register in the field marked “Sex”.

I see that the Labour re-appointee for the EHRC chair is insisting trans people use mythical, segregated third spaces as a way of existing in society

Not sure she understands the "Human Rights" part of the name. But tbf the supreme court didn't either
Snippet from the Independent saying Baroness Kishwer Falkner, chair of the Equality and Human Rights Commission, said the Supreme Court ruling means trans women should no longer be using women’s bathrooms or changing rooms. “It means single sex services, like changing rooms, must be based on biological sex. If a male person is allowed to use a women only service or facility, it isn’t any longer single sex, then it becomes a mixed sex space”, she told BBC Radio 4’s Today programme. “But I have to say, there’s no law that forces organisations to provide a single sex space, and there is no law against them providing a third space, an additional space, such as unisex toilets, for example.” Asked how she would respond to trans people who are worried about not being able to use any public loos or changing rooms as a result of the ruling, she said: “There isn’t any law saying that you cannot use a neutral third space, and they should be using their powers of advocacy to ask for those third spaces.”

I got a reply from the Lemkin Institute after the weekend debacle

I'll forgive them for the gaslighting in their reply, and stropping off Bluesky in the first place, if they republish the Red Flag Alert soon. Maybe they're talking to a trans person BEFORE making a statement about trans persecution?
Email saying... Dear Lisa, Thank you for your message. We have received several messages concerned that our RFA was taken down as the consequence of pressure from fascists or the Trump administration. We can assure everyone that we have had no communication from any state authorities or anti-trans organizations or individuals. The Lemkin Institute has taken down the Red Flag Alert as we rephrase a sentence that was misunderstood by some readers to imply that trans women are men. We have taken the concerns and suggestions from members of the trans community seriously, as the sole point of the RFA was to point out a genocidal process against trans people in the United States. We felt it was counterproductive to keep it up, lest it generate more anger and lead to more of what we saw on Bluesky yesterday, which is a waste of everyone's energy, especially these days. We will be re-releasing the RFA with the corrections as soon as possible. We are very sorry that the RFA generated so much rage. Best Regards, Lemkin Institute Team
