What’s somewhat worse is their tagline is, “Join the Icarus experience.”
🤔🔥🪽Nah, I think I’ll pass.

Now that’s just sneaky, making that an earworm at midnight CST 🤣.
But totally get why the oooooh-ing would trigger singing!

Awwwww!! Any particular piece or instrument that sets her off?

That is a very subtle & amusing point with that one, the reliability in modern IRL vs the betrayal angle in the myth.

Well, ‘Infinite Jest’ *could* work, but then you run the risk of getting a 20-minute monologue from an MFA delivering your pizza, explaining why you can’t skip the footnotes and how the ending is really the beginning, and, and, and…

Awesome! Watch for next month’s featured craft of a festive emergency doorstop. It’s simply a copy of Ulysses wrapped in recycled twine—add a bow if you’re feeling fancy!

(Enabler and proud in this case, in other words…!)

I am simply endorsing accumulating specific type of physical media to protest against digitization & AI. Also, it’s energy-efficient insulation when bookcases are on outside walls, and a low-tech home defense system (hurl a Merriam-Webster at would-be intruder).
Just being a responsible citizen!

Oooh, “Number Man” by Carl Sandburg. Dedication is to the ghost of JS Bach. Typical sly playfulness but more music as architecture, with Bach being the greatest builder. Last two pieces composed: Art of Fugue, Mass in B minor—both align to poem’s last line.

Number Man
He added all the numbers he knew, multiplied them by new-found numbers and called it a prayer of Numbers. He knew love numbers, luck numbers, how the sea and the stars are made and held by numbers.

Wow!! Those are champagne-level sparkling pieces—😍

You are so welcome! I’m hoping this trio records more of Del Cinque’s works—there’s so much unrecorded to choose from!

I was so relieved to learn that at the time—as an alum, I hated that they would’ve been sullied with that association.

He was the first ticket I bought on my own as a teen, was conductor at Detroit Symphony at the time. (Brahms Te Deum was on the program.)

Wrong on SO many levels. In STL, many of the care systems have religious affiliations, making it tough to begin with, but the Catholic systems dominate by far. Unconscionable.

That’s marvelous! Such a beautiful unusual warm timbre, like an oboe met up with a trumpet. Do they all have the leather covering (found that odd…).
