yes. schools also very deliberately avoid explaining the links between past and current fascist ideologies, because fascist ideologies today have powerful proponents who will target teachers/schools who call them out.
One piece of this is that the way we teach about our fascist history (slavery/Jim Crow, Trail of Tears, Internment) is that we avoid the ideological spectrum behind it to focus on gutter racism/atrocities while avoiding explicitly connecting the more insidious aspects that act as the velvet glove

Seeing a lot of confusion in the comments about why he’s only charged with 2nd degree murder. To clarify, in MN, prosecutors can charge up to 2nd degree right away, then have to ask for grand jury approval to charge 1st degree. That is a separate step that will definitely happen.
