I am an #adoptee living with the lifelong pain of #adoptiontrauma, so I agree with you and glad you said this.
Let us now pay homage to taboos: they guard the chief acts of the community -- birth, initiation rites, marriage, childrearing, burial against interference. They guard adoptive parents from natural parents, natural parents from adoptive parents, andvl natural parents from adoptees. They guard everybody from everybody. They enable us to live in armed citadels, safe from each other. They protect us from our deepest impulses, from that to which we are most naturally drawn. The violated taboo is programmed to avenge itself but should it fail, benevolent society takes over the punishment of the hapless offender. In my case, I didn't need society: I was doing a fine job on myself.

Again. There are yellow, orange, and red marigolds. There are some deep ruby seed pods on a deep puple vine. bright ruby hyacinth bean pods. can see shapes of the growing seeds; small round bulb shapes.

The seeds in the pods are starting to become larger. Photo of the last 2 marigolds with red & orange blossoms and yellow centers. Behind the marigolds is a bush of winter hardy "german thyme," which had survived 6 winters. It keeps coming back each year, larger and stronger, despite several times we have dug up and removed part to pot and give to family.

☺️🌱 in my #garden today part two
ruby hyacinth climbing bean vines (ornamental not edible) with fewer fuschia/pale pink flowers and ruby pea pods. Photo of a small mulched garden bed which is against a brown, weathered, wood fence. LEFT: "German thyme" a truly amazing star. It is (really) Winter hardy -- not phased by extreme temps, severe weather, nor being cut in half, dug up (xmas presents), just keeps coming back bigger and stronger each year. RIGHT: Marigolds with flowers of mixed red, orange, and yellow. Photo of small, round, mulched garden bed with an ugly white plumbing pipe (4" diameter 6" high) in middle. We planted 4 small dahlias which became bushes, hiding the pipe. The yellow one grew into a large, wide bush which crowded out into the marigolds and the orange-red dahlia. Something idk what killed all of them except for these 2 short yellow ones.
