One of the delights of reading #Discworld is that you can feel Sir Terry growing more in love with his characters as the series goes on, much like you as the reader fall deeper in love with them.

This excerpt from Snuff really caught my attention.

Busy busy day. Saw Gladiator, went to a Chanukah cooking class, finished reading The Fifth Elephant, & finished (& gave) this early Chanukah gift.

Sir Terry remains a fucking genius. Pedro Pascal continues to play 'the Dad who stepped up,' & to be brilliant at it.

Hanukkah is about the necessity of building upper arm strength & having a true "through anything" girlfriend.
Judith Slaying Holofernes (Artemisia Gentileschi, Florence, 1620) is the renowned painting by Baroque artist Artemisia Gentileschi depicting the assassination of Holofernes from the apocryphal Book of Judith. Gentileschi centers her work on the labor of the killing, which forces the gaze to start amid the tangle of blood, limbs, and metal. Her ability to display brutal realism is shown particularly in the details, such as the arc of carotid blood that spatters across the frame. This scene displays the use of chiaroscuro, or the drastic contrast between light and dark, both literally and figuratively. Holofernes struggles in vain to press against Abra as the two women force him down with distinctly strong arms. Their sleeves are rolled up, as though they are performing an unavoidable domestic chore, and their faces express a staunch resolve. Judith drives the sword, which is noticeably vertical and shaped in a way that alludes to a cross, into flesh with an exertive force. Abra is depicted as almost a mirror to Judith, with a youthful appearance that departs from earlier portrayals of her character. She holds firm to the left arm of their victim as he pushes against her breast in desperation. Holofernes, whose blood puddles and spurts a deep red to contrast the white sheets of his deathbed, is overpowered and without hope.

It's certainly not holy water.
A group of three cups/thermos. The one in the center is the one currently in use. It's a homemade/fan made version of the Heaven's Dress Tartan holy water thermos Aziraphale gives to Crowley in Good Omens. There's a lens flare from the flash because I went a little heavy on the acrylic gloss sealer. It's between a lilac Stanley cup and an "iced tea jug" from Bill Miller's, a local BBQ chain.
