First Nations language professionals from across Australia visited ANU last week to work on an ARC project about language ecologies. Policy attending to which languages are spoken and how in specific places can transform lives. The team gave the Paul Bourke Award public lecture, led by Denise Angelo

Talking About Tasmania: A linguistics study about language and identity in Tasmania. To be eligible to participate, you must: - have lived at least half of your life in the Hobart area (including most of your school years) - have grown up speaking Australian English at home - currently targeting ages 18 to 35 and 50 to 70 The interview will take about 1 hour, and you will be offered a $30 voucher to compensate you for your time.
