I'm trying to think of all the good and all the beautiful in my homeland in spite of all of the bad and terrifying. A hike helps a little. The future may be bleak, but at least we have this, for now. #cascadia #hiking #rattlesnakeledge

Weekend adventures. I ran to the waterfront, helped a friend pick out trees at an amazing nursery full of statuary in Gig Harbor, and spent time with the goodest of girls. Trying to find joy in the little moments, despite the larger chaos happening in the US.

Happy Valentine's Day. I'm finally getting over the flu but am still tired and coughing, so we are spending a quiet night in with Indian takeout. I couldn't not get a special heart-shaped dog treat for my favorite canine Valentine, though. #dogsofbluesky #valentine

My favorite part of running along the water right now is that it's Weird Duck Winter. Goldeneyes and widgeons galore! #pnw #salishsea #tacoma #weirdduckwinter

The mountain was not out today, but the snow and late start to work made for a beautiful morning. My husky mix Prudence had an especially good time in her preferred element. #pnwsnow #dogsofbluesky

A year ago my dad became extremely ill with necrotizing pancreatitis and was admitted to the ICU. He spent two months in the hospital before dying on the day of a solar eclipse. The details of those two months are too awful to post. I'm sure I still have a lot to process from that time. I miss him.

I went to see an old friend today and caught the most beautiful sunset on the way home.

Tacoma morning walk. Mountain, sunrise tree, and the sharp-shinned hawk that's been hanging around lately. #tacoma #tahomasunrise #sharpshinnedhawk

Remembering a legend and planning on a 10 minute silent meditation at noon. RIP, David Lynch. I'm not much of a film nerd, but I appreciated how he could explore the gray spaces between good and evil, and create mystery but leave it up for interpretation. #davidlynch #donut #twinpeaks

It was a beautiful, frosty sunrise today. I'm trying to keep my mind off of national/world events this weekend and hoping to find peace in my little corner of Cascadia. #tahoma #mtrainier

Hello, BlueSky. It looks like this is the place to be as of late, so here I am! Here's a picture of my first king bolete find.
