Have any legacy database providers (EBSCO, GALE, etc.) started utilizing AI to enhance search experience for students? I want students to be able to manipulate the reading level of a text, create a summary, generate bullet points, etc. Where are these features?? #TlSky #EduSky

“Massive numbers of students are going to emerge from university with degrees, and into the workforce, who are essentially illiterate." "Already, roughly half of all undergrads have never experienced college without easy access to generative AI." <- Behind a paywall, but worth the $4 #TLSky #EduSky

Hey PLN - looking for 🎧 podcasts on three topics: 📖1) AI created picture books (preferably from a library perspective) 📃2) AI & it's impact on the research paper, ⚖3) Academic Integrity in the world of AI

Heard anything lately that might fit the bill?

Issues in education endure! In 1866 the board of Ed of our local district reported that they were moving students to 1/2 days due to overcrowding. They said "It is much better that children should have good instruction half of each day ... (1/2) #TLSky #EduSky

Every librarian should read this incredible post called "Librarians Are Dangerous" by @bradmontague.bsky.social today. It truly made my heart sing today. Thank you, Brad! ❤️ (And thank you to Julie W. for sharing it with me this morning.) bradmontague.substack.com/p/librarians... #TLSky #Skybrarian

Anyone using AI tools specifically for World Language teachers? Would love some of the functionality of NoteBookLM, esp the ability to produce audio output--but with accurate accents and pronunciations. #TLSky #EduSKy

What's the plan when students use AI to cheat? We're trying something new - restorative justice style reflection sessions. Students review the code of conduct expectations about academic integrity in kid-friendly language, then reflect on harm they've caused & how to repair that harm. #TLSky #EduSky

This is 1 of those projects that you only do once because it’s way more work than you expect. Using these brackets to showcase team profiles from a sports journalism ELA class, then students will use profiles to inform their bracket picks-found a free Google Sheets bracket on Reddit. #TLSky #EduSky

Why eat in the cafeteria when you can sit in my office!?! 🤪 It’s a very educational 40 minutes each day - I learn all the new slang, eavesdrop on the gossip, and get a review of the cafeteria lunch. 10/10 would recommend #TLSky #EduSky

"In essence, the research suggests that when young men who feel romantically rejected are exposed to manfluencer messages that blame women and feminism for men’s problems, it can create a cycle leading to increased misogyny." Phew, how to tackle this in 9th grade? www.psypost.org/rejected-and...

NYS dropped its "Media Literacy Toolkit" for teachers. My favorite part is this section on "Truth Decay" (pg 6) - it notes "The truth is losing its value-and rapidly." I don't know how I've missed the term "truth decay," but can't wait to use it more! #EduSky #TLSky www.nysed.gov/sites/defaul...
