I like how it gives a 3D quality to the paper and adds another level of interest with texture and form, I might have to explore this further 🤔

It is, this was painted front and back as well so I had to battle with it to get it draped over the easel for drying purposes, hence the crumpled look 😅

The guy who bequeathed them asked that the paintings only be displayed in January when the light is weakest. So that probably explains the lighting conditions, shame about the queues though
