Viktor wakes to the sounds of plastic utensils rattling beside him. It was probably one of the nursing assistant's coming to bring him dinner. He hadn't been eating as well or as much as he should for many years now, but during the last few months it had gotten progressively worse. He opens his sleep-drunk eyes and turns to see a black jacketed man hunched over, his back turned to him, fiddling with a large plastic bag rested on the chair in front of him. The smell of fresh bread, garlic and onion fills his senses. He glanced at the nightstand and saw that there were two glass cups lying in wait, one filled with icy cola, the other with a thick, white liquid. "...Jayce?" Viktor croaked, his brain still addled by his nap. It must have been late, for the warm lamplight was the only thing from plunging them into darkness.
