I scared the shit out of him and he tucked his phone in his pocket and left it there. I was in a panic attack for the rest of the film but I stood up to a stranger and didn't die.

This asshole 4 seats over had his phone open for all of the movie and I saw it move every time he moved his hand. It was like every time I was finally connecting he would move his had and I was see it out of the corner of my eye pulling me out again. He truly ruin my whole movie experience 5/?

we get there and thankfully the seat directly next to me was going to be empty and @epbooke.bsky.social was on my left to hold my hand for the jump scares. I had prepared myself the best I could knowing everything I know about myself. 4/?

the movie has a friends of friends connections and that made me even more focused on going opening weekend. Support the arts!!!
Horror isn't always my jam because jump scares are as bad as strangers but damn The Black Phone was awesome and I didn't want to wait. 3/

I forced myself to go grocery shopping in the store vs ordering and it was awful for me, but I did it. That used up a good 6 out of my 10 spoons for the day.

I have extreme social anxiety. I have a really hard time going places where there will be strangers. I go to shows (local theater/comedy) because I love and want to support my friends., this means more to me the resulting panic attacks and recovery 1/?
