i dont because i tried to install it on steam (linux), didnt run.
then apparently proton was fixed and it DID run directly in steam without outside scripts.
BUT i only found that out now that they banned linux users lol

my dealbreaker was that it was cringe and instagrambrained. i didnt like bluesky because it was a wasteland but now its super lively so i like it. feels like if twitter was a bit more human

no no the issue isn't flat coloring per say, its the over reliance (which i know is part of the style, but then its not just "low poly")
see sonic from sonic r. he is sharp but all the polygons are adding a lot to the shape. he uses solid colors but when polygons would be worse he uses textures.

Look at blooky's lower half for example, that's not how you'd model it given real polygon restrictions (you'd use an alpha texture).
I think this is just a style that needs a better name tbh, because it is a really cute artstyle and I do like it.

The only thing i despise about modern pixel art is mixels!
Modern low poly very often ignores the "do as much with as little polygons as possible" and instead opts to focus on sharper angles and overuse of solid colors. So instead of doing a lot of little it's usually a little with a lot...

It's very commonly higher res and using seemingly unlimited color pallets depending on the person, yes. But this doesn´t go against the very principal of pixel art (representing something or someone with resolution limitations)...

still dont think "low poly" describes it well. even if it can be valid I'd just like something more specific.

yeah, mario was just bellow 700 triangles! (but tbf enemies and level geometry was much, much lower poly). tbh this is one of the more favorable examples I've seen (even if its still making edges overly sharp instead of just having less polygons like a model from the "low poly era")

yeah fair enough but at least to me and many others "low poly" just means using the least amount of polygons to convey a shape and textures to convey detail depending on style (mario from sm64 is basically all lights).
this, at least to me, is just flat shaded, solid color, sharper faces artstyle
