To clarify before there are any misunderstandings, this is not me saying that genAI WAS used on it but that our perception has changed. Our brains immediately go into questioning mode when they find only one little thing is off, and that is a very sad development for perceiving art.

The longer I stare at the new FFXIV artwork's background, the more my brain wants to convince me there was genAI involved. And I find it horrifying that this is a constant thought we as recipients will have in the future: Not knowing what is real or not, not trusting anything anymore. 😔
