It would seem we agree about the infectiousness & overall danger of Covid (though it's vascular, not exclusively respiratory).

But it sounds like you've got another idea for how to influence a response that is not social, though—what do you suggest?

If brevity is the issue, might I suggest “early Covid” then?

Assuming precision in language is a shared value, I think that is objectively more accurate & requires no justification or assumptions.

It’s not hard to use a couple more words for the sake of accuracy.

Also it’s almost always clear that what people actually mean by “during Covid” is that they chose the false reality of the pandemic being behind us biologically at the time it was declared “over” socially.

At best, it’s incorrect & imprecise. At worst, it IS callous & dangerous—a perpetuation of the kind of thinking that keeps Covid itself spreading nonstop.

Except no one who takes it seriously (& actually behaves accordingly) would say that. Maybe this is a case where it’d be good to take the word of people who actually do take it seriously re: how it’s best discussed.
