This is what I hoped for, Recs! “Jules et Jim” was my number 12, then “The 400 Blows,” and “The Miracle of Morgan’s Creek,” and “La Règle du Jeu”… I’m now adding Mohicans and Ambersons to my watchlist—ta! Did I mention “My Man Godfrey”?

And?? Did you like it? Isn’t it distinct and marvelous? (I do always FF/skip the long whirlpool scene). Martin Scorsese became a filmmaker largely because of Powell & Pressburger’s movies—there’s a new documentary out about this that I can’t wait to see, called “ Made in England.”
