The ECHR is why victims can seek justice, why people in care are treated with dignity, and why freedoms are balanced fairly.

It's an important safety net for every single person in the UK. Leaving it would make us all less safe.

We need to see urgent action from the Government to introduce safeguards to limit how the police can use facial recognition, and to protect all of us from abuse of power as we go about our daily lives.

There are plans to roll out facial recognition technology across West Yorkshire, Surrey, Sussex and Hampshire.

And continued use of this tech in areas that already have a history of using it - Thames Valley, Cardiff.

Live facial recognition cameras have been deployed in Bedford and Manchester.

Hammersmith and Fulham has approved plans for live facial recognition cameras across 10 locations.

The UK's first permanent facial recognition cameras went live in Croydon.

It doesn't stop there.
