Abolish the IRS. Abolish the federal income tax.

The USA didn't have a federal income tax until 1913.

It's time the people took back their power (i.e. money) and stopped letting far-away self-serving millionaires in Washington drain so much wealth from our local communities.

Libertarian President Javier Milei has drastically cut inflation, reduced poverty by 10 percentage points, reduced rents, reduced taxes, and given Argentina its first budget surplus in 14 years.

He is single-handedly proving free markets work and that big government is the problem not the solution.

The USA federal government stole half my paycheck and all I got was this lousy violent war on drugs and expensive mass incarceration of peaceful people for victimless crimes.

👕 Will that fit on a shirt?

The USA federal government spends $7 trillion (7,000 billions) per year. That is money taken out of our communities, away from our schools, families, and local services, and sent far away to millionaires in Washington to line their pockets & the pockets of their cronies.

If you want something to cost 100x as much while being done worse, ask the government to do it.

If you want to spend 100x as much as it would cost to actually fix a problem while making sure it gets worse and never gets fixed, hire the government to fix it.

What is the problem with paternalistic welfare states?

If taxation is peaceful, how do pacifists like Henry David Thoreau end up in prison for refusing to pay?

Indeed, it's a purposely oversimpified extreme example just to ensure I was understanding the person who was explicitly saying she supports using non-defensive violence to help fund lunch programs for kids in the USA (who are not eve. at risk of dying since nobody starves to death in the USA).

The billionaires own the government and always will. Making government bigger and more powerful always helps the rich and already powerful. The purpose of government is to make the rich richer and the powerful more powerful, ever since the very first king issued the very first tax.
January 30, 2025 at 11:42 PM
The opposite. Taxes make the rich richer, and always have ever since the very first king issued the very first tax.
January 6, 2025 at 9:29 PM
The statement "taxation is theft" does not mean "taxation is necessary for legitimate things".

You can agree that taxation is theft (i.e. non-consensual), while still believing it is good and necessary for legitimate things.

You didn't answer my question.

I didn't ask how to avoid taxes (i.e. how to avoid getting robbed).

I asked you what the difference between (1) taxes and (2) theft is, if you somehow think taxes aren't theft.
December 29, 2024 at 11:36 PM
How can you say that taxes aren't theft?

What is true of taxes that can't be true of theft?
December 29, 2024 at 10:29 PM
Stop strawmaning me. I never said taxes (i.e. violent robbery) are unnecessary, nor that I am "mad" about it.

As I have told you repeatedly, the topic is whether or not taxes are theft.

And they obviously are theft.

You can say, "Taxes are theft, but they are necessary for society to function." 🙂
December 29, 2024 at 5:43 PM
You get taxed even if you are self-employed and even if you only barter.

It's violent because, when peaceful pacifists refuse to pay taxes to the USA Federal Government, the government sends men with guns to the person's house to kick in their door and drag them away to prison.

It sounds like your position is the following:

"Yes, taxation is obviously violent theft, but violent theft is necessary to fund certain desirable local services such as schools, paved roads, fire & EMT, etc."

Is that correct?

If so, I'd say that is a reasonable and common position. 🙂
December 22, 2024 at 11:51 PM
The statement "taxation is theft" isn't a slogan; it's an objective fact that is true by definition.

Granted, one can say, "Yes, taxation is obviously violent theft, but violent theft is good and/or necessary in some circumstances such as to fund charity to the poor."

The war on drugs, military-industrial complex, corporate welfare, and legal money laundering designed to make the rich richer and the already powerful more powerful?
