Simulated democracy in the Trump era comes from how information power has shifted, where groups that once lived at the edges built their own alternative information systems and then pushed those systems into the centre of institutions.

As those spaces grew they stopped being just audiences and became pressure blocs that shaped parties and media and policy from the inside, using their own narratives as loyalty tests rather than anything grounded in evidence or procedure.

When institutions bend themselves around those narratives to survive they keep the outward form of democracy but the internal functions weaken, because verification and deliberation and accountability get replaced by demands coming from inside those disordered spaces

He did. The confrontation on the bus was amazing???/deeply sad. They are all such complete losers. I am glad that Mate is discredited to the point that he has to stay with GZ/Dore forever. Although Drop Site would probably hire him.

This is really the grift for untalented subpar/journalists. Max now has a 1.5 million dollar house in the suburbs of VA. Ben is feted in China and Rania is living large on the back of her Iranian benefactors. Having zero principles is incredibly lucrative. Vile but lucrative.
