End the Imperial Presidency. Because we can never trust any future Republican President, we must end the Imperial Presidency, devolve power, attack oligarchy, expand healthcare while protecting voting rights and due process.
We cannot return to a pre-2016 federal government.

We must return to constitutional order. Reform and remove power from the Imperial Presidency and send power back to Congress/States. Can we please try something different and actually structurally reform government rather than concoct fantasies about permanent Democratic Party majorities?

A 21st Century Articles of Confederation, devolving power/money to the States while empowering the Judiciary to retain their current role. A weak domestic Presidency, with a commander in chief role and a 2/3 vote required for confirmation on cabinet nominees that report to Congress not the President

Despicable. But when she is re-elected in 26 and the Democratic Party fails to win the Senate, after another landslide victory in the House can we finally come to terms with Reality?
There is not a political solution to the MAGA social disease.

When we win the House in a landslide in 2026 and we still cannot win the Senate (just like 2018) it will have nothing to do with messaging. 46% of the electorate is wrapped in a fog of social conservatism. The inter-party Democratic messaging arguments are political solutions for a social disease.

This is the Oligarchic shield provided by the culture wars. We need a new Federalism to focus the national party on economics and fight the culture wars in the states.

I disagree with Anand’s argument.

Hillary was validated by the 2024 election.

A 2008 style victory, even with significant progressive accomplishments, while vital is still insufficient. The power of the Presidency must be reformed, limited, restrained, devolved and contained. The next Republican President cannot have the same options available to abuse.

Realism - 46% of Trump voters are immune from political argument due to cultural conservatism. Democrats will win elections but not every election. Remove, reform and constrain Presidential power, embrace Federalism to protect blue state sovereignty and attack the Oligarchy. No Kings.

Realism- an offensive strategy, better messaging/policies (a focus on attacking the Oligarchy) and a defensive strategy, multiply checks and balances and accelerate the sovereignty of blue states as insurance against future tyranny. No sellouts, post Dobbs, fight the battles state by state.

Optimism- A Democratic Party that fights and has a unified message will win election(s).

Pessimism - The “message” will not reach the MAGA base.

Realism- Accept and accelerate Federalism, Keep the Filibuster, return power to Congress- tariffs, 2/3 vote needed for cabinet nominees, etc…

The willful ignorance of MAGA has no limits. MAGA 🥨 logic “Taxing the wealthy at the effective tax rates of the 50’s is socialism because Eisenhower was a commie.”
