The Supreme Court, Presidency, Senate and two party system are all quite anti-democratic institutions as presently constructed.

Our institutions are not only incapable of preventing tyranny—they’re currently enabling it.

When democracy returns, we need to reform our political system.

The farmers wouldn't need aid if Trump hadn't started his trade war and destroy US agriculture export markets overnight. Trump is the reason the farmers now need a US$12b handout.

Sorry, Yankee farmers, your export markets are gone for generations.

Schools desperate for solutions as teacher shortage nears 'crisis point'
As staff shortages "near crisis point", these Queensland schools are going to extraordinary lengths to put teachers in classrooms — and keep them there.

Health insurers are jacking up premiums while raking in billions in profits.

Expiring ACA subsidies will saddle millions of Americans with massive monthly premium increases.

Is it any wonder that 63% of Americans now support Medicare for All?

Today we remember the thousands of Americans who died in the attack on Pearl Harbor 84 years ago. Nearly half of those lost were aboard the USS Arizona, and I remember what a moving experience it was when Gabby and I visited the memorial. We’ll never forget their sacrifice.

I didn't vote for Trump either time, not because he ran under the Republican banner, but because I knew what kind of man he was. He's proven me right in so many ways during his second term in office, it's sickening and demoralizing to see what he's done to our once proud nation. 🗽

If I'm not mistaken, so were many public utilities. The push for privatization was never really about efficiency or better service as much as diverting control and the massive amounts of money it took to operate them to the top 1% of their wealthy golf buddies.

If the Sep. 2 boat really had "narco-terrorists" on board, questioning the survivors would have been a way to learn about how the organization worked, where more drugs were stashed, etc. But this isn't a counter-terrorism campaign. It's a shooting gallery with helpless targets.

Trump threatened ICE raids at the World Cup. I wonder if the silly "FIFA Peace Prize" was to buy him off so he wouldn't interfere. Both FIFA & Trump are so corruptly transactional, it would work that way. Or course, money may have changed hands, too.
