For sure but I do remember it being rather normal to befriend any and everyone that had mutual friends as you— at least where I’m from.

Gogo has a verrry distinct sound that’s hard to make work, so there are definitely some bad songs. But as a whole, I think growing up hearing our parents’ generation of Gogo only helped us appreciate and love the genre as it evolved with our own.
