I wanted to highlight some promotion of EVs I've been doing
I recommend EVs because they cause less air pollution (exhausts really stink & cause harm to health) , cause less carbon emissions over their lifetime And this has been a fun hobby for me

Think you were right to say a few days ago, that "waste wind" narrative is getting dangerous - plays straight into the hands of those forces trying to stop renewables.
£5m curtailment is nothing at all, compared to the £70,000m we spend on importing fossil fuels.

If you look here we spent £5m curtailing some Scottish wind farms, but if we had encouraged enough Scots to go electric with an EV ⚡ or a heat pump ⚡
They would simply be getting free electricity 🔌 instead 🤷

If you look here we spent £5m curtailing some Scottish wind farms, but if we had encouraged enough Scots to go electric with an EV ⚡ or a heat pump ⚡

We have the results of a cool new trial out today, a collaboration between Nesta and OVO.
I'll put some key charts in a thread, but the tl;dr is:
- 58 customers let us operate their heat pump remotely
- We flexed the heat pumps to lower the cost of electricity
- Most people were fine with it
