Modding do be like that sometimes. Especially with games that are not built with modding capabilities to begin with.

To be fair, a good chunk of those 200 active modules are the base game and expansions, the associated unofficial patches, and assorted dependencies for the mods that actually add stuff to the game. And I do have one redundancy in that list that need to be axed, so the real number is 199.

As a fun fact, Helath Stormbinder is not the only canon case of an elf having a name associated with the "wrong" elven race. Mankar Camoran, the High Elven antagonist of TESIV: Oblivion, is rocking a Bosmer name for some reason.

The name "Nurome" is also an existing Altmer name. It belongs to a High Elf NPC is Elder Scrolls Online, who can be found in Valenwood and is, most inauspiciously, a fisherwoman. There is absolutely nothing remarkable about her at all.

It means that you can color things in ways that are absolutely not lore-friendly, but is also means that you can do what I did here: give a High Elf a paler skin color to indicate some Nord heritage.

Well, you can't get color control over EVERYTHING. The eyes are still limited to a few specific prefabs for every race. But skin tone, hair color, and facepaint color are all fully customizable.

Oblivion Remastered also gave us improved color selection for hair and skin, come to think of it.

There is no universe in which the above-described scenario isn't "foul murder." The correct response at that stage would be to send in a rescue, and if you think there is indeed cocaine in the wreckage, collect it as goddamn evidence.

I do have Live Another Life (the Alternate Start mod) installed as well. I'm still going to begin the game at Helgen as normal, but the Live Another Life dungeon makes for a good buffer-space to fiddle with the Mod Configuration Menu before starting properly.

I'm looking forward to playing the game tomorrow... er... later today. But I've been awake too long as it is, so for now, I'm just wrapping up Friday's BSC upload and then going to sleep. I have two days off, so I'll find time to dive in.

But I do want to beat a game that is FUNDAMENTALLY STILL SKYRIM before I play through the game with massive gameplay changes, so the general balancing and stuff's the same. I installed Diverse Character Creation, but I am not using Ordinator or anything like that, or even True Directional Movement.

Oh, and of course, I installed SkyUI this time, because golly gosh I forgot how irritating the vanilla UI was; and also I've installed that mod that makes the camera get closer to the NPCs when you talk to them. Should make things a little more enjoyable, anyway.

I kind of want to wait until I can play the remaster to do any more with Oblivion... so I'll be playing Skyrim again, this time more "seriously," and with combat difficulty jacked up to compensate for the multiple companions. We shall see how it goes!

I've also added various questline overhauls, like the Civil War Overhaul, the College of Winterhold questline expansion, some tweaks for the Companions, an overhaul for the Destroy the Dark Brotherhood quest, and so on.
