I've said it a million times before and I'll say it a million times again but letting students pick whatever "silly" topics they find meaningful is absolutely the best way to 1) make sociology relevant to undergrads and 2) get interesting papers/arguments/research projects/theory applications.

Also LMFAO that she claims a doctor was willing to schedule her for top surgery and rff phalloplasty at the same time. Absolutely not a thing any doctor would allow! Both are serious surgeries which require the body's resources to heal. Phalloplasty itself happens in multiple stages for this reason.

I also had to get a new gender-specific separate therapist on top of my regular therapist to be approved for phallo. They grilled me on my entire gender journey and why I wanted the surgery for weeks before writing the letter.

Maybe her phallo *consult* was scheduled for 90 days out. At the consult they'd have told her how to schedule a million different appointments (IVF, hysto, laser), each with its *own* consult and ridiculous wait-list, to get the surgery done, in the fastest possible timeline, years down the road.

😂 I was prepared for disaster. Was pleasantly surprised.
