This weekend I heard a lot of anxiety about how to make our work more relevant to the public; and by extension how to secure our institutional funding. But nobody asked whether these goals might actually be opposed to each other
+ how universities, as conservative neoliberal institutions, have explicitly asked scholars to “wait until the war is over to have a seminar” about controversial terms (e.g. genocide, settler colonialism, antisemitism, Islamophobia)
