A throwback still plenty relevant. Who else remembers reading Cathy in the Sunday funnies? It was the only part of the newspaper I was interested in as a kid. 😆 #jokesters

It’s so much more pleasant to run in the cold than the heat! One good thing about the season.

Also, I got into the Berlin Marathon for 2026!

Training starts in the spring 😊

Apple isn’t a whole lot better but at least they’re not running ICE ads. (Overheard one yesterday while I was at the grocery store 🤢)

My music year in review is co-opted by my children. No matter how many times I attempted to listen to my preferred music, it wasn’t enough to stand out. 😅

I had never even heard of DoubleGood popcorn until this year! 🤣 our 5th grade committee is doing ALL the things. Krispy Kreme last month, bake sales, world’s finest chocolates, some online gift brochure and yes… the popcorn.

Makes me wish we did this

Fun fact, they followed the same naming convention for Korean. (I just didn’t realize because Korean alphabet doesn’t use kanji!)

Random language learning thought of the day:

I really like how poetic Japanese went with their days of the week. Unlike Chinese where it’s:l “Weekday 1, weekday 2, etc.” they went with “Moon day, fire day, water day, wood day, gold day, ground day, and Sun day”

Aren’t languages fascinating?

This is my child. One of these days I hope she’ll develop an appreciation for all the foods, but until then… #jokesters

My friend who organized the viewing of Wicked part 2 for all of us on opening weekend also made goodie bags for the kids, because she’s just the best like that.

My wicked name is Cuddle Glindaglow, what’s yours?

Hope Thanksgiving festivities have begun in earnest for you! #jokesters

I’ve been off Facebook, IG, and Threads since Crackergate (feels like a million years ago)

But many of my friends still use messenger as primary communication so I spend a lot of time in the group chat.

Or I did… till I got thrown in FB jail today!

Was reminded of how much I used to love Far Side comics by Gary Larson. I had one of those, one-a-day tear off calendars.

This one is strangely prescient for modern day.

Post a book you love from the 80s. No explanations, no reviews, just covers.

Fifteen years old.

A geeky CHILD I was.

Hell, when I see people in their 20s these days I think, “Look at those kids.”

Reading performatively on the subway, as one does.

A bit jealous that we can’t see any of this in NYC, but keep the beautiful sky photos coming!

This was taken by a friend in Old Tappan, New Jersey last night.

A beautiful, if cold, fall day. Perfect for a short run with my hubby.

Happy Veterans Day!

I’ve been trying to find a gif or meme that epitomizes the Gen X ethos. 😆 there are so many to choose from but this may work

Who was it that collapsed in the Oval Office and are they really okay?

There are a dozen news outlets breaking that it was Gordon Findlay of Novo Nordisk (who wasn’t even in the room).
