Wonderful way to spend a honeymoon!
I've also had the chance to spend several nights in the Smokies to watch and film the synchronous blinks of Photinus carolinus fireflies. It was in Elkmont, but it's great to know they also dwell around the Ramsey Cascades.

People often think that "there's no more fireflies" simply because they don't spend much time outdoors at night anymore!

I don't know about Cyprus specifically, but I myself have found several unknown populations over the years.

I would recommend to go out in the summer and keep looking!
