Got pretty emotional visiting Orchard House today. Little Leticia wearing out her Little Women book on tape could never imagine being here.

In my latest Leticia's Creative Obsessions newsletter, I talked about re-reading Dracula this year, what vampire stories have meant to me in media since I was younger, and how I appreciate them now.

Hey ya'll! I'm 39 today and this year I made a big life change to travel full time and work as a writer and freelance teaching artist, mentor and editor. So many people have supported my work, and it would mean the world to me to have the support of others as my next two books release soon!

Truly heartbroken to say goodbye to our sweet Chancho yesterday. He was with us for 16 years and four homes, eating whatever he could steal and doing whatever he wanted. Gonna miss this little guy endlessly.

Are you a storyteller interested in exploring the tales of cryptids and creatures that go bump in the night? Have you ever considered how to push the boundaries of what storytelling could be by incorporating horror, folktales and traditional stories in your work?

The woods beckon us. They can be a dreamy, inviting place where people choose to create their homes. In fantasy works, they are sanctuaries, places for people to connect to the natural world and unique ecosystems, from swampland to boreal forests.

As a Latina author, I maintain that we should be reading BIPOC books and books by Latinx authors all year long. Still, September is #latinxheritagemonth and these are just a few of the books I have on my TBR or am currently reading.
