Only 16% of people diagnosed with some of the less survivable cancers survive beyond 5 years. The #RareCancersBill is a unique opportunity to tackle this and more. We are pleased to have supported this Bill throughout its journey and will continue to do so as it progresses.

As mentioned by Gregory Stafford MP, only 16% people diagnosed with some of the less survivable cancers survive beyond 5 years, in comparison to over 55% for more common cancers. The #RareCancersBill is a unique opportunity to improve survival rates.

The Taskforce supports the Rare Cancers Bill. The Bill reaches its 3rd reading in Parliament tomorrow, Friday 12 July and we need at least 40 MPs in Westminster to ensure it progresses.

The focus on early diagnosis and detection in the 10-Year Health Plan for England is a welcome step. Now what we really need to see is how this will deliver for people with less survivable cancers in the National Cancer Plan.
