I presented my work on inequalities, biases & fairness in socio-technical systems (node ranking, and LLM recommendations).

What amazed me: participants reimagined my research in ways I'd never have thought of: beyond scatterplots & bar charts. 💡🤯

Big thanks to the AI-GAP organizers for inviting me to present "Network Fairness," a new research area where ethical decision-making & understanding complex social relationships are key to achieving fairness in society while upholding multiple moral goals #WorkInProgress

There is a thin line between "being social" and "being unethical" 4. Decision making on networks may have ripple effects 5. Current notions of fairness are limited I showed what we mean by "Network Fairness," how the current definitions get affected by incorporating the network component. A list of network effects affecting or biasing decision making made by people and algorithms. And the ethical matrix, a tool to visualize the big picture of a decision by taking into account all moral goods we want to achieve for all stakeholders.
