Dear @netflix.com a game about bugs just made a fortune. Please do something with the Redwall license. It would make a fortune. Or if you don't want to, sell to someone who will.

Mum's obituary in today's Guardian paper. She was a cool lady and I miss her a lot.

This image was the first time I remember just gazing at a poster and imagining the movie I was about to see. Struzan's work always added to the magic. RIP

Saw Black Rebel Motorcycle Club with my wife at Terminal 5 in NYC last night. We met because of our love for the band. Their album 'Howl' is a shared favourite and they played the whole thing. I also played this song at our wedding. A truly magic gig.

Describing the people who repair all of the broken things (who aren't government employees btw) and then saying "Britain isn't broken" is yet another example of what clueless, tin-eared berk Starmer truly is.

Loved a lot of Redford's movies (Butch & Sundance is a forever favourite) but the Sundance film festival has assured him a place as an all time legend. An incalculable benefit to cinema. He was the kind of artist that truly inspires. And, god damn, was he hot.

I have just published a book on the philosophy of grief.
Given the way the world is with new wars and 'climate grief' among other crises, I figured it was time to reappraise the idea of grief.
'Plato's Remedy' is available in ebook everywhere

There's a reason the quality of Disney's output is declining, and isn't "because woke". Read my article in Fanfare here:

Happy New Year to all. I'm hoping for peace on earth again this year. Seems like a radical thing to hope for these days, peace, but I shall continue to do so.
Remember - people are smart and kind, they just need to be given the option. And always as Larkin said:

I got this album on cassette from my brother for Christmas in 1996. This Christmas I upgraded it courtesy of my brother-in-law. An absolute top ten favourite album @remhq.bsky.social

Got this for Christmas and am blasting through it. Never got into the Metroid series but played Super Metroid for the first time last year and loved it. Dread feels like a better modern update than the remakes/remasters. Highly recommend.
