This truly is a shame. Still, he is not up for re-election, so I am still voting green. Good that this man will no loger run the ministry, no matter what though. But also don't think there is gonna be any improvement after the election given the parties likely in power.

This suggests that sexual selection is as relevant for the evolution of SSD in species with reverse SSD (i.e. female-biased) as in male-biased species. Still, this is a makroevolutionary pattern and selection forces will vary a lot between individual species.

Thanks for your interest! That is a good question, which indeed we tried to adress in the paper (tough it was not our main focus). We found that across all species, the sex-bias in SSD did not predict the strength of the relationship with sexual selection (Figure S3A).

We found pre-copulatory but not post-copulatory sexual selection correlated with male-biased SSD. Suggesting that components of sexual selection (but not only sexual selection) drive SSD.
