Back when I used AudioMulch for the kinds of stuff I'm working on now, it had a really simple additive oscillator module called 10harmonics (exhibit A). I need that and only that functionality for something today, but everything providing it looks like exhibit B. I JUST NEED SOME SINE WAVES DAMMIT.

Apparently this is how I look when Gremlin is simultaneously clawing into my head and licking it.

Last night's academic music software didn't quite pan out, but I'm about to fall down a rabbit hole with this other one...

New water enhancer organizer design finished printing. Here's the old one and new one side by side. I'm slowly getting better at bringing some vague sense of aesthetics into my designs.

I'm looking at you, Kiefer.

I wanted to go hog wild with the new asymmetric fillet feature in the latest Fusion 360 update, so I redid the water enhancer holder I made earlier in the year. I've been wanting to make it less blocky.

This is floor robot company doing a fridge usage survey, but now I want to write a short story about a fridge.

"When Amana Whirlpool sauntered into my PI office that night I could tell immediately she was a frigid dame, and not just because she was a freezer stacked on top of a refrigerator..."

I added this to Floorence earlier in the week; obviously I didn't go far enough.

Our vampire movie collection is...something.

I didn't have "quote Journey lyrics at me" on my "unexpected things for a router update to do" bingo card.

I've finally achieved my lifelong goal of being able to 3D print, look at things under a microscope, solder, and play Final Countdown all in the same place at the same time.

Ready to protest
November 1, 2025 at 3:33 PM
Oh yeah I got that little camera to take to protests and stuff. I really like the size, although the trade-off is that it doesn't handle particularly ergonomically. Taking photos is fine, it just feels a little awkward.

Taking it with me to the ICE protest tomorrow. Hopefully just for testing.

Blew away my windows partition. Now I just have a couple VMs to tend to.

Oh, interesting! Apparently early this year I bought a hurdy gurdy instrument not realizing it wouldn't run on the free version of Kontakt.

Those things were such a fucking pain in the ass to do. I had to keep drawing pitch falloff curves over and over until I got them sounding sorta natural. The only reason they don't sound like complete shit is because I buried them in the mix.

This is no longer quite the direction I'm going to go with my Rasputin cover, but it's the original intro I had in mind and still love, fully formed and mixed. I used this as an exercise to bone up (boney up?) on Reaper and de-rust my drum mixing skills. So why am I changing direction? 1/2

Nothing fancy, just a utensil holder to replace one I made a few months back. Mainly this is to make sure Fusion 360 works on this machine for an actual design (it does!) and to see if I like doing design work in this room (I do!). It makes so much more sense to be doing this work in here.

It's like I was saying how the best interfaces are the ones where I don't go "hey! that's an interface!"

I set my bg to a solid color, and while my dock's a bit too cluttered, I think this really captures that. GNOME's very similar; they even did away with being able to put things on the desktop.

I was trying to remember the name of the character on S's mug and was like, "isn't it something like Pootie T? No, wait, that was David Cross's character in Three Times One Minus One."
