I never know how to take nice photographs of my sketchbook, because it always feels kinda staged to me if I lay the pencil next to the sketch or something.
And my camera is not good enough to take a photo from a double page and then crop out the surroundings.
Any suggestions? Closeups like this?

I asked my sister which animal I should sketch next and she said porcupine.
The head shape is pretty round and I could only change it so much before it stopped looking like a porcupine. 🧐
But the spikes on the back are cool and offer many possibilities for a nice silhouette.

Ok this page looks a little bit chaotic. I was figuring out a way to draw the "hands" of animals with hooves or thick claws.
I always go for four fingers and three toes no matter the species just to keep things consistent.
The ones I liked are marked red.

Some armadillos this time. The neck part was a little tricky since they have this cool armor. And I should probably fill a whole nother page just with their feet to get the claws right eventually.
