There is a widespread outbreak of #norovirus, a GI virus that causes projectile vomiting & profuse diarrhea usually lasting 24-48 hrs. Wastewater levels nationwide in 🇺🇸 are high. It’s miserable & incredibly contagious. So many friends are texting SOS, so here’s a 🧵. /1

This message is critical to disseminate to the public. Disability, chronic illness and becoming “high risk” are always around the corner for even the healthiest of us.
When COVID first hit and I wrote articles on why we need masking and wider vaccine coverage for the vulnerable, my husband and I were the picture of health.

Now we’re both high risk - no, I don’t want to talk about it - proving that we’re all one diagnosis away from needing protection.

#COVID
If you refuse to wear a mask to protect disabled people - you’re really not in a position to tell us we shouldn’t worry that assisted death policies will turn into euthanasia.

Covid showed how little society cares about us - there’s no reason to believe you will protect us now.

Graded exercise was encouraged for me early on after I had recovered from the acute phase of Covid and then the post viral period (where I had an EBV reactivation) because the people providing care didn’t understand ME/CFS. It prolonged my illness by repeatedly sapping my energy.
This story is one of the most disturbing I've ever covered. It's about how the views of a deeply weird ideological sect affected science, medicine and the media, with devastating impacts on patients. Please read and pass on. This horror has to stop. www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

It’s clear by now that state abortion bans are having a seismic impact on health care. But they are also introducing a dangerous new dynamic for anyone who happens to conceive.

This is what we've been saying since Dobbs

The people hardest hit by abortion restrictions aren't going to be from wealthy mostly white communities

It's going to be people in medical emergencies
It's going to be people with preexisting conditions
It's going to be underserved communities

This narrative is problematic
1. No evidence that vaccines cause autism
2. Vaccines save lives & prevent cancer
3. These narratives are contributing to the emergence of vaccine preventable diseases (polio, measles pertussis - all things that will NOT MAHA despite what the new administration says).
