Here's 1 of 2500+ photos I took last night. My camera is looking south south east. The aurora way brighter and faster last night compared to what I saw the previous night. This is just a teaser, as I have a lot of aurora content that is crunching on my computer now.

McKenzie is a smol black cat. And she loves attention. I love her so much.

While I was playing around videoing airplanes flying under the aurora last night, I had my other camera taking stills. Here's 1661 stills connected covering 55 actual minutes. The bright, fast moving streaks are the airplanes. I sped this up faster than normal because we all have swiping to do.

Convincing you to read my novel by the first sentence. Share yours if you want! Mine's from A Ferret's Tale, which I'm posting a chapter at a time on Patreon.

"Leric had been running for what felt like forever when he spotted the lone rider on the weedy road."

TLDR of my regular Veteran's Day post: My father was a Marine. He survived battles you read about in history class. He had PTSD when it was just called moodiness, temper, or "get Daddy a drink."
Veteran's Day matters. Don't let it get overshadowed by political bullshit.

Last month I published a short fiction story, Terminally Online, about a culture warrior struggling (and failing) to come to terms with the future he helped create. Steve Miller is just as much of a nasty piece of work as his namesake, and it was a lot of fun watching his plans unravel.

If you're close enough to the poles to see them, heads up for exciting auroras!
Space weather forecasters issued an alert Tuesday for incoming severe solar storms that could produce colorful northern lights and temporarily disrupt communications.

Instead of funneling endless amounts of money into our bloated Pentagon budget while thousands of veterans face homelessness and hunger, let’s use those funds to truly take care of our veterans — ensuring every one has a home, food, and access to medical and mental health care.

Finally some good news: Supreme Court rejects attempt to overturn the legalization of gay marriage.

If only they'd exercised this much common sense in 2022, and upheld the constitutional right to abortion instead of overturning it...

Accurate.
We are living in the world that could rapidly become the Star Trek ideal. UBI, free healthcare, many jobs done by machine, freeing up humans to pursue the arts, education, exploration.

But it's being run by the fucking Ferengi.

This is a good metric to judge candidates by in any election, to be honest. (Vet your pick and learn about what they stand for, of course.)

Pretty stoked about this, not gonna lie. This is what can happen when people actually get out and vote.
This is what happens when you don't agonize, but organize. This is people power.

It snowed overnight. When I got home, Luna urgently wanted to investigate the porch. This is about as far as she made it (about a foot and a half), before deciding that warm toes are better than cold toes. #Caturday

I guess we didn't have enough home-grown garbage, and now we're importing it. Wonderful.

Also, throw this in the face of anyone who uses anti-immigration arguments and supports the fascist-in-chief.
After bringing white South Africans to the United States as refugees earlier this year, the Trump administration has now granted protection to members of far-right European parties.

This plan, which recently became official, makes the country's refugee program into a tool for white nationalism.

Or, you know, support your favorite author on Patreon. ;)
Amazon is helping fund a $300 million build of a ballroom for the White House.

Independent bookstores are donating to food banks and organizations that help with food insecurity.

They are not the same.
