The other day I was chatting with a friend about the book House of Leaves. They were telling me about why they didn’t care for it. After a few a bit I reminded them of the first page after the dedication.

I made a pot of French onion soup from scratch. It took 10 hours to get the dark caramelization on the onions but it was well worth it!

I picked up breakfast on this morning’s ferry. I know being on a boat=surge pricing + surge pricing. However, this cost nearly $8.50. That feels…wrong. Am I having an old person moment? Is this the equivalent of saying “When I was young we could feed a family of four on a nickel!”?

Just another Wednesday stuck in traffic.

Tonight @livelaughloathe.bsky.social surprised me this print of Persephone and Hades. I’m utterly smitten. It’s dark, mysterious, and breathtaking—just like love and art should be. Huge thanks to @arayaart.bsky.social for creating such a stunning piece!

Good morning!
Photograph: suburban backyard ringed with trees and tall bushes. Leaves are turning yellow because of the cool autumn air. Heavy fog coats the neighborhood turning the sky and middle distance into a silvery blankness. Anything closer is obscured, wrapped in a fuzzy blanket, making it difficult to make out details.
