I completed a 70 mile speed hike in 32 hours, and I met the most kind, helpful, and thoughtful hikers/runners. The community of outdoors people restores my hope during all of this bleakness. There is still goodness in this world, and it can find you when you need it. 💙 #LHHT #Hiker #Ultrarunner

The worst realization I've had recently is no one of value is going to be able to stop anything. We don't have anyone on our side that is rich enough to make real change, because mega rich people are inherently bad by way of their hoarding, dominant natures. They control too much already. Now what?

I made this connection recently as I do more road ultras that conservatives also seem to take personal offense to people that enjoy using their bodies for sport. They will come as close to side swiping you as possible without actually killing you. Tell at you at stop lights.

I was on a floaty in a lake today doing some light cardio, and all I could think about was soldiers after USS Indianapolis sunk that were floating for 5 days in the ocean. That is like unimaginable.

I happened upon two huge bears in the woods together that didn't see me initially, and I started making the least intimidating, goofy ass bird calls that turned them right around as they were leaving. They were clearly curious. I would have pity eaten me if I was a bear. Darwin award. 🤦♀️😆

6 months and 6 ultras done. This one was unique for me as an alarming amount of running and standing water was the "trail". This was also the first ultra where I felt fear a few times trying to navigate flooded trails next to a raging creek. A little too much adventure but a well earned 41 miles.

On this Memorial Day weekend, I'm so incredibly happy to hear jets flying for hours on end that are so loud you can't even go outside. This doesn't happen around here normally, so my guess is some fucking genius found a way to waste more taxpayer money on pointlessness. #GefFucked #NotAWarZone

Well folks, 5 ultras down for the year, and this was my longest time to complete a 50-ish mile trek yet. I remember thinking, "I bit off more than I can chew, but I have to keep chewing". I learned more about myself on this adventure than any other, and I am overwhelmed with pride and gratitude. 🧡

I love running, but there's something about a dusty gravel bike after riding a few hours at my absolute limit that will always light me up. Hours of smiling and cruising. Today is the perfect day.
