Last week I spotted this ordinarily unremarkable scene when just the right hint of delicious backlight was starting to appear, and well, you can see how gorgeous it made those bushes and weeds look!
Thought I’d save it to share on the first day of Autumn with you all.

Just a flower, but not just a flower. Resilient. Force of Nature. Hardy. Hearty.
Because there is no other choice. 💙

Caramel Sunset

One December evening far far away, not really that long ago, but you know, a while ago.

It’s Spring! ✨💚✨

Celebrating with an Aurora image captured on the Spring Equinox in 2021. It dazzled and filled the entire sky overhead, making me wish for a lens even wider than the 16-28mm I was using.

There’s much more snow to melt this year… a good thing.

When a golden light was holding off the darkness as hard as it could.

Five years ago this week as the world entered lockdown.

Happy #BlueskyMonday!

We’re almost at the end of the cold weather season here on the Canadian prairie, but as usual we’re getting a little reminder winter isn’t quite done with us yet, with a bit of snow appearing overnight.

I really enjoyed encountering this frosty scene one January day

I went to the place that never in a million years would I have thought possible to experience… Africa. I read about it, pored over pictures of it as a kid in the Canadian North, and it was incredible. The land, the wildlife, the people… just so wonderful.
Happy to share this view for #Stunday

Out for a boot around the countryside last spring, Dale pulled over for a biobreak, pointing out my window at a perfectly positioned angle as he finished braking and putting the truck in park- like he’d always intended for me to have this view as he did other things. Jedi moments are a thing.

Let’s head over to Ballintoy, Ireland for #scape day, aye?
On the other side of this point was where some filming was done for Game of Thrones.

Scotland again, for #throwbackthursday, with an echo of yesterday’s waterfall.
I adored how full of texture this place was, so atmospheric and ethereal.

Back to Scotland today, with a self portrait at The Fairy Pools on the Isle of Skye, for #waterfallwednesday. Scotland felt like home 💙

For #blueskymonday I selected these images made on the trip of a lifetime to Namibia, Africa. We adventured to the area known as Deadvlei to see the oldest sand dunes in the world, climb Big Daddy, and generally be in awe of the fossilized trees that have stood for hundreds or thousands of years.

The landscape may be relatively flat here on the Canadian prairie (don’t let it fool you though, there’s outrageous amounts of life on it).

The sky however would like to have a word. Drama for dayyyyys

October 7, 2024- a night the sky blew wide open with massive aurora display. Here on the Canadian Prairie it absolutely covers the sky.

It’s sometimes hard to show scale here, without mountains or tall trees, but I found some brush to help show perspective.

In my mind that rock mid frame encapsulates my feelings about Scotland. Truly lived our time there. 💙🤎💛

Someone needs to see this fox basking in this light. Me. It’s me. I needed to see it.
I hope you like it too. 💛

My inner latent Radagast might emerge this year as I collate my collection of various lichen, moss, and mushroom images. As I learn more and more about the critical role lichen has in the vegetation ecosystem on Earth, it’s becoming increasingly clear how each thread of it is affected. 🌿🐇
