You have been planning this for so long and have already paid so much it’s unfair of anyone to shame you for doing something you have been looking forward to and would lose money if you skipped. Enjoy yourself and ignore the noise! There are other ways to show your disapproval of things.

This will not end well. He keeps saying people are going out to dinner again but local news here says otherwise. This is keeping people away.
