Mr. Coffill is up for an award.
Would you mind giving him your vote?

Is Harry Coffill America's Favorite Teacher?
As a secondary librarian, I love helping students find books that inspire, foster empathy, and let them discover themselves through stories.

"Well, I'm not really supposed to do this, BUT..."

Pretend you're being sneaky and let your elementary students "take new books right out of the box."

Know what happens?

Looking forward to two days of learning and discussion.

We love new books! Here's the latest 140 books for our HS/MS library.
@mrschureads.bsky.social --we love to add "Everybody Books" to our secondary collection. We read this one this morning and it made us cry.

Our 1947 yearbook wanted to show students what it looked like when our teachers "went outside of school."
Wow! What a wild bunch! You can tell these educators were ready to party!

Getting our displays and bulletin boards ready for Women's History Month.

This was on our desk for .002 seconds before the first check-out.
We made a special "one-week checkout" for this one. Probably gonna be popular.

We have golfish as a library pet, but we're seriously considering a baby elephant.
Can they learn to shelve books?

As we celebrate "Women in Sports" with our latest Legends, here's our 1929 "Girls' Basket Ball" team from our very first yearbook!

It’s BLACK HISTORY MONTH! We’ve got some great reads. Come down to the library and check out your choices!
February 4, 2025 at 7:56 PM
What’s that?
90 (almost) new books donated to our library by one of our teachers.
We’ll always find good homes for donated books. These are some super reads!

I was skeptical about library pets, but we have patrons come and visit Violet, Sunny, and Klaus every day.
Seems Fred Rogers was onto something.

Having old-school games in your library encourages student interaction and makes your space welcoming.
Besides; beating them at Yahtzee’s really fun.

We got a new bulletin board and put some of our stats on it.

Strongly considering switching the spine labels in our genrefied library to switch "FIC" to a genrie'
IE:
HORROR

Teachers “dressed like their graduation year” today. Mrs. Britten and Mr. Coffill rocked their HS and college gear.
Guess who had the oldest graduation date?! PJHS ‘86, baby! Go Raiders!

Principal Pool, and librarian Mr. Coffill demonstrate musical instruments for our 2nd graders (with Mrs. Mac-not pictured)
They learned about vibration and resonance and all the different ways we can use music to express our feelings.
Reading music is reading, too!

Know what’s lots of fun?
Story time!
Reading to students increases language skills and empathy.
